Successfully executed work drill
For a sixth year in succession, the work drill named “May it never return again” was held at Shipyard Trogir. Everybody participating from the Shipyard Trogir and to the representatives of the harbour authorities, police and the call centre of 112, demonstrated the requested level of readiness and skill.
Exercises started with the sound of a siren and the measures undertaken after telephone report to the entrance booth of the shipyard that an explosive device has been installed at floating dock.
After received information, the Fire Fighting Brigade of Shipyard Trogir was sent with a fire engine and ambulance vehicles to the place of accident.
At the arrival to the place of intervention, the zones of action were defined; the zone of danger and the zone of safety, and the aid were rendered to the evacuation team heads so that all the employees could be evacuated to the zone of safety.
After completed evacuation, the Commanding Team of Shipyard Trogir Inc. was informed on safely carried out evacuation of the employees. Then, especial forces of the Ministry of the Interior started searching after and locating explosive devices and after executed necessary actions, the deactivation of the same was carried out, with which the exercise was finished.
«The exercise was carried out in an orderly manner, without injured persons or material damages», as it was put by Mr. Damir Kuzmanic, a head of the Department of the Safety at Work, after successfully carried out exercise he thanked everybody and mentioned once again that the development of the protection at work has been performed permanently, and the proof to that is also the introduction of a new Ordinance on Protection at Work, accompanied with technical instructions and rules.
A Working Exercise Held
For the fifth year in a row at Brodotrogir Inc. a working exercise under the title "To never happen again" was held.
The purpose and the task of this exercise was primarily to ensure the coordination of the firefighting duty team of Brodotrogir Inc. and the DVD Trogir, to meet the firefighters of the DVD Trogir, as well as the heads of the evacuation teams from the ship and the surrounding area. A special goal of this exercise was getting to know the risks which may ensue from panic among workers. The cause for the intervention was an explosive device left in the ship's engine room (Novogradnja 322). On that occasion the action zones, danger zones and security were tested, with simultaneous coordination of all commandment levels, all channels of communication and services as well as movement of vehicles and intervention forces.
"I wish to express my praise to all the participants in the exercise. From year to year there is improvement. An improvement in coordination and organisation of people is visible", Damir Kuzmanic, head of the occupational health and safety at Brodotrogir said.
Work drill "May it never happen again"
Work drill titled "May it never happen again" was held at shipyard Trogir fourth year in a row. The goal of the drill was to check the actions and procedures of employees of shipyard Trogir, as well as those of our subcontractors on the slipway and object of New build 321 and ensure coordinated actions of the firefighting watch of shipyard Trogir and DVD Trogir, in accordance with the "Plan of Evacuation and Rescue in Brodotrogir d.d. Shipyard". A special goal of the drill was to familiarize the employees with dangers occurring during incidents and outbreak of panic among employees.
The intervention was triggered by simulated sled fire on New build 321. This occasion was used to test operational zones, dangers and safety, with simultaneous coordination at all command levels, communication channels and services, as well as the movement of vehicles and emergency forces. Following the conclusion of the drill, satisfied Damir Kuzmanic, Head of the Safety At Work Service in Brodotrogir stated: "I would like to thank and commend all the participants of this drill, who have demonstrated envious discipline in the fulfillment of tasks set".
Working exercise “May it never happen again!”
This years' safety at work exercise titled "May it never happen again" successfully executed in Brodotrogir d.d. was an actual inspection of the systems and levels of management in crisis situations - from managers of individual services and departments to the Management and operation of the Trogir shipyard's communication systems.
Special attention was paid to measuring and verifying reaction times, i.e. time necessary for all exercise participants to gather and take action.
EXERCISE SCENARIO:
The exercise began when, at 9AM, employee on duty at the doorman's booth of the Trogir shipyard received telephone notification of the Dock Manager that an unknown boat has anchored in the vicinity, of which he informed the Harbor Master, as person responsible for harbor safety, Security Jobs Coordination Department, 112 call center and M4 Markioli grupa d.o.o. security company.
Harbor Master proceeded to inform the Manager of the Safety at Work Service thereon, who relayed the information to the Manager of the Department for Fire Prevention.
Manager of Fire Prevention, coordinating the work of the Department, decides to evacuate and rescue workers at the dock and from the ship at the dock, informing the Manager of the Safety Service of everything, and delineating the danger zone and action zone, coordinating all his activities with Object Manager - Safety at Work Coordinator.
Manager of the Safety Service simultaneously informed Chairman of the Board and Manager of the Common Services Sector on the beginning of evacuation at the dock and of the ship, following which he informed the Manager of the Security Jobs Coordination Department on securing of the safety zone, i.e. meeting point of evacuated workers, and Manager of the Maintenance Facility on suspension of energy flows to the floating dock.
Following which Object Manager - Safety at Work Coordinator - informed Manager of the production facility of the Ship Repair Sector, who in turn informed Director of the Ship Repair Sector on the beginning of evacuation.
Manager of the Safety at Work Service informed Deputy Director of the Shipbuilding Sector and, he in turn, the Director of the Shipbuilding Sector on evacuation and rescue at the floating dock.
Once all employees have been evacuated, team leaders informed Object Manager and Object Manager - Safety at Work Coordinator, Manager of the Fire Prevention Department thereon.
When Dock Manager informed Manger of Fire Prevention Department that all dock employees have been evacuated, Manager of Fire Prevention Department informed Safety Service Manager that evacuation has ended, while port authority informed the Harbor Master that the exercise has been concluded.
Finally, Harbor Master notified Manger of the Safety Service and the latter Chairman of the Board on exercise finalization. The exercise was concluded by departure of the fire engine and ambulance.

So that it does not happen again!
Working drill has been performed at the shipyard Trogir under title "So that it does not happen again", participated by all actors to the Brodotrogir Fire Fighting Department and representatives to the Port Authority and Police Department, demonstrating required level of readiness, training and qualification.
The objective of this drill was to monitor the management system in crisis situations, functioning of the communication system and identification of the time required for reacting and mustering of all participants included in the drill.
The drill started by taking necessary prompt actions, after a phone call at the Brodotrogir lodge, reporting that an explosive device was set up in a big dry-dock under Yard no. 317.
Upon reception of this information, the concerned persons to the Brodotrogir Fire Fighting Department, together with fire car and ambulance, having switched on sirens, arrived at the spot, followed by evacuation of the workers from Yard no. 317. Pre-mounting hall and ambient spaces were evacuated too. Besides, the areas having risk of fire and the safety areas were identified by the team leaders responsible for evacuation and fire watch of the Trogir shipyard and also the safety areas were assured and controlled by the responsible officials to the Protection Services Coordination Department and by the security company M4 Markioli Group Ltd.
Upon completion of the evacuation, the Brodotrogir management was informed regarding safely performed evacuation of the employees. Afterwards, special Military Police formations commenced searching and locating explosive devices and after having carried out all necessary actions for deactivating explosive device, the drill was completed.
At the end, Mr. Damir Kuzmanic, Head of the Protection at Work Department, conveyed his thanks to all actors and employees of the Trogir shipyard for participating in the drill and fulfilling assigned tasks and duties, and consequently evaluated the drill as exceptionally successful.

Today (16 November 2012) at 9.30 hours at Shipyard Trogir a work exercise under the title „Not to be repeated“ will be carried out. It will be carried out the seventh time; the goal of the exercise is to check the management system in emergencies, the necessary reaction time for the communication system and getting to know all the dangers that may emerge once panic has broken out among workers

When at 9.30 hours today the siren alarm went on, this was the sign that at the Shipyard Trogir the seventh work exercise in a row under the title „Not to be repeated " started. All participants from the Shipyard Trogir and the representatives of the port authority, police and the 112 centre, demonstrated the requested level of training and readiness.
Measures were undertaken based on a phone notification at the shipyard's entrance regarding a visible unknown object at the anchored boat near Novogradnja 324. After having received the notification, the Fire Department of the Shipyard Trogir rushed with its fire vehicle and the emergency vehicle to the scene. Upon arrival at the place of intervention, action zones were defined, the danger zone and the safety zone; the evacuation team leaders were aided in order to evacuate all the workers into the safety zone. Upon completed evacuation, the Management of the Shipyard Trogir was informed of the safe evacuation of the employees. A police vehicle of the Police Station Trogir came to the scene and the site was isolated. A vessel of the Port Authority arrived as well in coordination with PFSO of the Shipyard Trogir at VHF channel 13 and the access to ships was blocked from the sea to the safety zone. A police vessel arrived as well; it was boarded by the department for anti-explosion protection. The exercise was finished at the moment when the head of the department for anti-explosion protection confirmed that the object was not dangerous i.e. that it was deactivated. The goal of this exercise was to check the management system in emergencies, the communication system (radio, phone), the necessary reaction time and to get to know all the dangers that may occur once panic breaks out among workers.
All participants were extremely pleased with the performed exercise that went well without any injuries or material damage.
