I Christen You the Amorina!

With the today’s ribbon-cutting ceremony at the Shipyard Trogir, Ulrika Laurin Nermark, the ship’s godmother, named the Newbuilding 323 – the Amorina.

This is a ship intended for the transport of chemicals and oil products, with 45,470 tdw, 182.90 m LoA and a beam of 32.20 m. Her 8200 kW prime mover, manufactured at the nearby shipyard Brodosplit, enables her to achieve the speed of 15 knots.

Thinking back of the beginning and the development of business relations with the company Laurin Maritime from 1999 until today, Mateo Tramontana, the chairman of the Board of Shipyard Trogir, reminded everyone present that this is above all a successful cooperation, which has in a way gradually developed into friendship between the shipbuilder and the contractor. Taking into consideration the delivered ships, named THE TARANTELLA, THE TINTOMARA, THE TAPATIO, THE TOCCATA, THE TOSCA, THE TAMBOURIN, THE CAVATINA, THE CALYPSO, THE CORRIDO, the tanker launched today, as well as the newbuilding whose construction also started today, we get the overall number of eleven ships.

“I would like to thank all of you who have in any way participated in the construction of this ship, including you who came to share this success with us today”, said Tramontana, emphasizing that he believed in the continuation of the cooperation with the Swedish shipowner, to their mutual satisfaction.

After launching, the vacant space was filled with the keel for the Newbuilding 324, to be constructed for Siteam Pioneer Shipping Co.Pte.Ltd., a daughter company of Laurin Maritime AB.
