Successful transfer

With the signing and delivery of the transfer documents between Ivan Dusic, lawyer/power of attorney holder for EITZEN CHEMICAL and Mateo Tramontana, President of the Board of Brodotrogir d.d. 26 September 2008 in the Trogir shipyard, the transfer of New Construction 318, which was launched in May, was completed.

SITEAM DISCOVERER is the fourth of nine 46,000 tdw chemical tankers that Brodotrogir is building under a contract with the well-known company EITZEN CHEMICAL (Singapore) Pte. Ltd., a subsidiary of Eitzen Chemical ASA.  Eitzen Chemical ASA is one of the three largest owner-operators of chemical tankers in the world.
Eitzen Chemical ASA itself is a part of the Eitzen Group of Oslo, Norway, founded in 1883. The Eitzen Group and its subsidiaries are the owners and operators of bulk carriers, gas carriers, oil tankers, and maintain offices and branches around the world.

The ship's main powerplant is a MAN B&W, Type 6S50MC, with maximum power of 8200 kW at 121 rpm. The guaranteed top speed of the ship is 15.50 knots at a keel of 11 meters at the maximum power of the main engine of 8200 kW. Each of the three diesel electric generators has a power of 1111 kWe at 900 rpm and one emergency generator of 118 kW.

The ship is an IMO2-class tanker that can simultaneously transport 17 different chemicals in 20 cargo tanks plus two slop tanks with a total volume of 53,453 m3.  It has 20+2 submerged hydraulic pumps.  The entire series of these ships are being built under the supervision Lloyds' Register of Shipping.
