The Christmas Tree at the Medena hotel - The Good Fairies and the little elves warmed up the hearts of numerous visitors with their performance

To celebrate the upcoming holidays, members of the association The Good Fairies and their elves gathered little children and their parents in the Blue Lounge of the Medena Hotel and presented them their play The Christmas Tree. The wealth of this play lies in the fact that it included children with developmental difficulties. The Good Fairies designated a role for every child, and no child was deprived of this brand-new and emotional experience, and their performance warmed up the hearts of all visitors.
The play The Christmas Tree has been inspired by a fairy tale about a forest where trees are upright and have shapely green treetops, whereas only a few trees have crooked branches. One such small tree stood in the centre of the forest alone, sad and abandoned, and observed with melancholy as people came into the forest, picked the most beautiful trees for decorating, forgetting the small tree and not wanting it. Its sorrow lasted until the moment when small good souls reached it and recognised its sorrow. Full of love and understanding, they decorated its branches, and the little tree suddenly perked up and allowed, without fear, that its branches, that had always been shrunk until then, are spread completely. It was delighted to have finally found friends with whom to share the Christmas magic, all its dreams, but also the moments of fear and own dilemmas.
“The play wants to show how love and tolerance can defeat any prejudice and obstacle and accept the differences, which do not even exist, if we look with those warm, human eyes” – said Žanet Puović, one of the volunteers of The Good Fairy association, and her wish is that their project is spread to the entire community, especially to high-school students, which could do a lot to make the socialisation and growing up for children with developmental difficulties easier.
The atmosphere was additionally heated up by the Seget majorettes, whose small feet skilfully slid along the dance floor, and the small hands deftly caught batons in mid-air. These were the moments that the little “actors” and visitors, but also the majorettes themselves, enjoyed, because they managed to pass the joy and happiness to their friends, ushering them into the warmth of the Christmas holidays awaiting us.
Zdravka Andrić - Kreković, president of the association The Good Fairies, thanked all participants in this project, especially to the management of the Medena Hotel and the Brodotrogir d.d., for the trust they have shown and the chance offered.
