Several ships refurbished at the overhaul base

Five ships have sailed into our overhaul base for regular annual service, including the mini cruise liners President and Prestige, the catamarans Vida and Krilo Jet and the motor yacht Sea Ark. For them to enable their guests a safe and pleasant voyage during the summer, the ships have to be inspected, refurbished and protected during the winter months, and the available machines and devices have to be serviced, because in the summer months, these ships mostly navigate the commercial routes along the Adriatic coast.
The President and the Prestige are mini cruise liners which, during the summer, take their guests on locations around the Adriatic coast and islands. They will undergo washing of the underwater part and hull painting, as well as the replacement of zinc anodes, and the propeller shafts and the propeller on the President will additionally be disassembled and assembled again.
The catamaran Vida will spend about a month in service. During the docking, the underwater part of its hull will be protected, i.e. it will be washed and painted, and its zinc anodes will be replaced. Beyond that, the safety equipment will be examined, metal works performed on the deck and lounge of the ship, as well as electric works, air-conditioning works, tank cleaning and the servicing of the main and auxiliary engines.
The catamaran Vida is owned by the national maritime company Jadrolinija from Rijeka, which bought the ship from the Norwegian ship operator Fjord1 AS. The ship has been built to high standards and with the latest technologies in 2011 at the Norwegian shipyard Brødrene. The catamaran is 38.5 m long and 10.20 m wide and can transport 304 passengers at once, and, in contrast to the catamarans used so far, its space and facilities are more adapted to the disabled persons, children and cyclists.
The catamaran Krilo Jet has been situated at the small DOCK 4 and is undergoing the painting of the underwater part and the replacement of zinc anodes. Krilo Jet is 42 m long and 8 m wide and is one of the catamarans in the fleet of the company Kapetan Luka, which maintains regular lines with the Dalmatian islands during the summer months.
The twenty-eight meter long yacht Sea Ark will undergo corrosion protection of the underwater part of the hull and the servicing of underwater valves.
