Smooth sailing, Almissa!

Hrvatska brodogradnja Trogir, a company owned by Brodotrogir, has recently launched and delivered a nautical tourism ship, Newbuilding 338. The ship is 36.15 m long and wide 8.02 m wide, was constructed under the supervision of the Croatian Shipping Register in accordance with the rules and regulations for passenger ships, for the company SUNSET CRUISING from Split, which deals with nautical tourism.
The building of the ship was carried out as part of the Government's Programme for the reconstruction of passenger and excursion fleets for Croatian private ship operators – small business owners, aimed at the development of small enterprises on the coast and islands, and the development of tourism  through organised one-day excursions and multiple-day cruises.  Brodotrogir and Hrvatska brodogradnja Trogir have thus given their contribution to the ever-increasing industry of nautical tourism in Croatia with yet another similar ship, which will be delivered to the buyer soon.
The two diesel propulsion engines have a Tier 2 certificate, and meet the requirements of the International Maritime Organization (IMO) regarding the limited pollutant emissions.
The launch was attended by the owners of the ship, the brothers Marko Lakić and Pave Lacić, with their grandmother Ksenija Pivčević, who christened the ship, and other immediate family members. The owners were clearly satisfied with the realisation of the project and the achieved business results.
"We are satisfied with the realisation of the project because less than 12 months have passed from the initial concept to the realisation, which is an unusually short time period for a project of this scope. We would especially like to thank Brodotrogir and the project manager Nikša Buličić as well as all of his engineers, the chief design engineer Franjo Flesch as well as the agency Sail Croatia, which works on the bookings for our capacities. Our Almissa is already booked for 21 weeks in the next season" - says Marko Lakić. His younger brother Pave Lacić says that, although they are not from a family with a tradition of seafaring, they are satisfied with the business results, achieved thanks to their desire to learn and master of new skills. The awards for best ship and best service received in 2014 from the agency Sail Croatia has given them impetus to construct new ships.
Interestingly, this is the first ship launched to feature a Brodotrogir travel lift. With a lifting capacity of 600 tonnes, this is the largest travel lift on the Mediterranean.
