A Big Step Forward - the Largest Travel Lift on the Adriatic Placed in Operation

After concreting the surface of the servicing platform and performing the final adjustments and testing of the machinery, two self-propelled boat hoists (travel lifts) for lifting and lowering vessels into the sea have been placed in operation. The boat hoists have a lifting capacity of 100 and 600 tonnes. Two self-propelled hydraulic trailers with a lifting capacity of 60 and 300 t have also been purchased.
While different types of ships of various sizes and purposes could be serviced in the repair part of our company, the placing in operation of travel lifts has additionally enriched our offer. Mario Geić, one of the directors of the SCT, explained what this means for the company's business: "By placing in operation the servicing platform with basins for travel lifts, we have completed another one of the investment phases in the construction of the marina and servicing base for yachts. Now, in addition to providing the service of sea berth for yachts up to 65 metres long, we can, without restrictions, provide the services of ship lifting and lowering, the full service of servicing and maintenance, as well as ship accommodation and storage on more than 20000 square metres of surface. This provides shipowners with a faster, simpler and comprehensive solution, in a single location, to all their problems related to the servicing and maintenance of ships, whether they are sailing boats 10 to 15 m long or luxury superyachts, which can be more than 100 meters long. All of this makes Trogir an exceptionally important nautical destination and, through further investments, we intend to raise the level of service.".
The travel lifts and self-propelled hydraulic transporters were manufactured in Italy in the ASCOM factory, one of whose co-owners, Mr. Roberto Schedoni, attended their placing in operation. Satisfied with the cooperation, he said: "This is a big business deal for both companies, since it involves the first 600-t travel lift placed in the Adriatic. This is a big step forward, not only for us as the manufacturer and you as the offerer of the service, but also for all the nautical tourists in this part of the Mediterranean, as they will be able to quickly and easily have their ships repaired without length and weight restrictions".
The ASCOM factory is one of the leading factories in the world for the manufacture of travel lifts and ship servicing equipment, and Mr. Schedoni himself confirms that the title of world leader is not an easy one to bear: "There is no being comfortable at the top, you must constantly work on the professional development of your employees and products, keep up with new technologies and upgrade your products. We are constantly renewing our team with young resources and new ideas, which, in synergy with the existing knowledge and experience, become the key to our far-reaching success“.
