Newbuilding 326 launching celebrated

Newbuilding 326, a 49,500-tdw ship for the carriage of chemicals, was launched on Saturday in Brodotrogir. The ribbon was cut by the Brodotrogir owner and management board member, Mr. Danko Končar. He wished the newly built tanker many years of successful shipping, and commented on other activities and investment cycles in relation with the growth and development of our company.

"This is a big day for Brodotrogir, I am proud that we made this tanker for our company, that is, that we entirely financed its construction. The order book is full, further newbuildings are planned, and we are especially proud of our marina".

Beside the Brodotrogir hosts and the representatives from the Croatian Bank for Reconstruction and Development, the launching was also attended by Mr. Ivan Sertić, assistant minister of economy, with his co-workers, the Trogir mayor Mr. Anto Stipčić, and other esteemed guests.

Satisfied with the positive course of development of the privatisation process and the achieved results, Mr. Sertić promised further support from the ministry and the entire government, and said:
"Brodotrogir is one of the three shipyards undergoing the restructuring process and this event confirms that the process has been successful. Therefore, Brodotrogir can expect the support of the ministry and the entire government at all times".
The mayor Anto Stipčić joined the congratulations, stressing the social and economic importance of Brodotrogir for the entire local community.
"Brodotrogir works with full capacity, there are no hiatuses, there are no redundant employees, which is certainly of great importance for the City of Trogir".
The launched newbuilding is the second of two chemical tankers, which the maritime company Trogir Maritime contracted with the Hrvatska brodogradnja Trogir d.o.o. (HBT) shipyard, which also belongs to the Brodotrogir group, as well as the contracts concerning the exploitation of ships after the construction with the company from the Norwegian Blystad group.

It was built according to a new optimized project that had already gained global recognition for quality, boasting numerous international prizes. It has been designed to carry chemical and oil products, with the aim to accomplish maximum flexibility of cargo operations in this specific field, along with the optimum ratio of dead weight capacity, cargo hold capacity and speed, which represents the essence of a successful project.
The newbuilding specialises in the transport of chemical and oil products, with the dead weight tonnage of 49,500 metric tons, the length of 184 metres and the width of 32.20 metres. It is powered by a MAN B & W electronic, low-speed engine with the power of 8000 kW and reaching the speed of 14.5 knots. The installation of this type of engine, in combination with specially designed propulsion and a new hull form, enables maximum savings in fuel consumption.
The ship was designed as an IMO 2 ship with 18 cargo tanks, each with a capacity less than 3000 m3, plus 2 slop tanks, with 18+2 segregation, and, as such, complies with all international environmental protection rules and conventions.
In several months, the Newbuilding 326 will set off and join the ship delivered earlier, Newbuilding 325, which has been, since its delivery, the most successful ship in the pool where it is employed.
