Trogir Elementary-School Students Launched 300 Colourful Ships!

Today, in Batarija (behind the Kamerlengo Castle) lower grade children of two Trogir elementary schools launched 300 paper ships.
Brodotrogir d.d. organised several days of workshops in the premises of Marina Trogir for schoolchildren to create paper ships. After the successful "construction", their launch was organised on Batarija. The entire event was supported by the principals of the two schools as well as the teachers, who accompanied the children throughout the entire project.
The idea of the organiser was familiarise the children with the construction of the ships, to show them how ships are built in stages, and what materials are used.
The hosts showed the children a "large ship" that is currently being built in the slipway, and then demonstrated on Lego blocks the different stages of the construction of a ship.
The children absorbed every word like little sponges, and participated actively in the discussions, asking for explanations for anything they were not familiar with. Some of the questions asked were how such a big ship can stay afloat, how many cables and pain is necessary for one boat, how a ship is launched, and how it is possible for a ship to be launched with one bottle of champagne. Their hosts tried their best to explain all uncertainties in a way appropriate for them, mostly through games
The children came to Batarija carrying the paper ships they made in the workshop. The joyful little voices filled the entire premises, and when the colourful "launch" began, their joy knew no bounds.
Along with the hosts from Brodotrogir, the launch was attended by the Deputy Mayor of the City of Trogir Radovan Slade Šilović.
