Workers' Meeting

At this year's annual workers' meeting held in Brodotrogir d.d., the President of the Management Board Mr Nenad Končar and Management Board Member Mr Mateo Tramontana informed the workers about the financial and organisational state of the company. According to Mr. Tramontana, Management Board Member, the situation in the shipyard is much better than it was five years ago, but a lot more effort and work needs to be put in for the purpose of achieving stability, since the company got the opportunity it demanded and this should not be wasted.
It has been pointed out that, as of June this year, Brodotrogir no longer receives state aid, while the company's own contribution in current restructuring is HRK 702 million.
In a little less than three years after privatisation, a lot has been done in shipbuilding, as the first tanker has already been leased, another one should be completed next year, works on Hull 329 and Hull 337 are under way, and so is the JOINT RUNNER project. Other business activities are also being negotiated, but it is too early to consider them completed projects.
There are constant investments into the power supply system, the infrastructure, shipbuilding and new activities. 15 million euro has so far been invested into the Trogir Marina alone and investments continue.
After the Management Board Members presented the current business situation to the workers, the latter wanted to know more about the personnel reorganisation which is being prepared.  Mr Končar explained that, since every company must produce products which are competitive on the market, there is a need for the reorganisation of business activities, according to which workers will work for their own company, but produce for the free market, which will also enable the company's long-term sustainability in accordance with the Restructuring Programme.
In order to secure the workers' jobs, the scope of the business activities, that is, the range of products and services placed on the free market, will be widened, which will enable faster and better business organisation and, therefore, the organisational stability of the entire company.
