Discussion on the topic of "Brodotrogir d.d. – an Example of Successful Reindustrialization" as part of MIPRO 2015

As part of the expert scientific convention, MIPRO 2015, a discussion was held on the topic of "Brodotrogir d.d. - an Example of Successful Reindustrialization".
Mr. Mario Rovan, the Project Manager at Brodotrogir Development and Investment Department, talked about Brodotrogir in general and its transformation, the Lean Business Concept, and everything that has been achieved in the last two years.
"Lean eliminates all that is unnecessary", Mr. Rovan pointed out. The Lean Business Concept (lean production) proves that it has the answer to a short-term production of high quality affordable products. Lean production enables higher efficiency, lower cost and high-quality products.
This type of management paves the road to business excellence. The process is long-term and the turning point is determined by the speed of replacement of outdated production philosophy with new philosophy based on management process as an integration of the process and business administration.
Among the participants of the discussion were the colleagues from other shipyards and faculties of engineering who participated very actively in the discussion and had many questions for Mr. Nenad Končar, the President of the Brodotrogir Management Board, who elaborated on the subject of most interest, namely the strategy of Brodotrogir.
In order to follow the market trends, efforts are being made in terms of production process modernisation. The priority issues are ecology and corrosion protection, and a corrosion protection hall is currently under construction.
The Mayor of Opatija, Mr. Ivo Dujmić, hosted on Tuesday evening a formal reception for the members of the Programme Committee and guests of the 38th International ICT Convention – MIPRO, the largest and the oldest expert scientific Convention on Information and Communication Technology, Electronics and Microelectronics in this part of Europe, which was attended, among others, by representatives of Brodotrogir.
This year MIPRO gathered more than 1,200 ICT experts from 40 countries.
