The Zagreb 1 platform sailed away

The Zagreb 1 platform has sailed away from the Trogir Shipyard today and is on its way towards Libya.
The owner of the platform is the Crosco company from Zagreb (which is a subsidiary of the INA Group), and was built in 1977 in the French shipyard Dunkerque. It is 110.6m high, 106.3m wide, and its overall length amounts to 103.4m. It is a semi-submersible type of platform, used for exploration of the seabed up to the depth of six thousand meters.
The platform overhaul consisted of the replacement of ferrous metal components as well as pipeline, fitting and mechanical and corrosion protection operations in which several hundred shipyard workers of various professions participated.
Throughout that time, the platform become a symbol of the whole city of Trogir, not just its shipyard.
All who would see the illuminated tower at night would be impressed, whether they are visitors of the shipyard or just passengers in planes flying over the Trogir airspace.
