Members of the Italian FIM-CISL trade union visited Split where they met with their Croatian colleagues from SMH-IS. Both unions represent workers employed in shipbuilding. The Italian delegation was led by Mr. Gianni Aliotti – Head of the International Department at FIM-CISL, whereas the Croatian delegation was preceded by Mr. Vedran Dragičević, President of the SMH-IS.
Upon their arrival to Split, the Italian trade unionists wanted to learn more about Croatian shipyards, so Mr. Dragičević presented them with a positive privatisation story of Brodotrogir, after which the Italian trade unionists expressed their wish to visits our shipyard.
The unionist were received by Mr. Mateo Tramontana - Chief Executive Officer at Brodotrogir, who described the functioning of the company and the activities it performs. The guests were pleased with what they learned because they share the belief that diversified business enables a more comprehensive market access.
Mr. Andro Belas, president of the Brodotrogir Trade Union Branch Office, was the host to his colleagues. In spite of poor weather conditions, he managed to show them the slipway, for which the Italian delegation showed the most interest, because in Italian shipyards the ships are built in dry docks.
