In the course of the weekend, m/b “Salona” and floating dredger “Crna Rijeka” came for overhaul.

“Salona” owned by Kali Tune d.o.o., 59.99m long, 9,46m wide, having the carrying capacity of 700t, was built in the Netherlands in 1976. The owners intend to reconstruct and convert the ship from a general cargo carrier into floating fish hatchery. The project is being realized in cooperation with Brodosplit BSO d.o.o., by entrusting all the dock works and part of documentation to Brodotrogir d.d. and Brodosplit BSO d.o.o. with reconstruction.

According to the information obtained from the manufacturer of ship dyes, Brodotrogir d.d. will be the first shipyard to apply special silicone paint, which is not harmful for living organisms onto a ship, which will not have a negative impact on the growth of young fish. P/b Crna Rijeka, owned by Port of Ploce, 40,00m long (with the excavator arm), i.e. 27,50m long (without the arm) and 9,5m wide, was built in the Netherlands in 2007. In the scope of the ten-day overhaul of the ship, the usual dock works of anti-corrosion hull protection and necessary works on the ship’s hull will be performed.
