Students Took a Tour of the Ships in Dock |

Trogir shipyard was visited by the students of the Faculty of Maritime Studies, accompanied by professor Branko Lalic. They took a tour of the dock with three ships, two wooden (tourist vessels) and one steel twin-hulled ferry.
Vinko Cudina, the production manager of Shiprepair Sector and professor Lalic described and showed them the works on the overhaul of the underwater part of the ship. They familiarized them with the way of bringing in and positioning the ship according to blocking plan, as well as raising the vessel above the sea level and cleaning, repairing and painting the underwater part of the ship, and subsequent lowering the vessel into the sea. 
The students were particularly impressed by the oil platform Zagreb 1. They were interested in the way of handling and positioning the platform with anchors, which includes the overhauling of the platform, etc. The conclusion of our young visitors is always the same: “Practice is the best way to learn”. |
