New Era for Trogir's Brodotrogir and Finnish Arctech

Following the cooperation which began in July 2016 between two shipyards, the Arctech Helsinki Shipyard and the Brodotrogir, with a construction works contract for the fore of a condensate carrier, an icebreaker of ice class ARC 7, with a tonnage of 44,000 metric tons, the Kermas group is interested in becoming a major shareholder in the Arctech shipyard, with a share of 55% to be obtained by the acquisition of shares from the Russian organisation United Shipbuilding Corporation (USC). No contract has been signed yet, but will soon be.
Consequently, the Arctech Helsinki Shipyard Chairman of the Supervisory Board, Dmitrij Pryahin, visited Brodotrogir and, accompanied by Mr Danko Končar, Nenad Končar and Mateo Tramontana, visited the production processes and available capacities, pleased with the forthcoming merger of the two shipyards, which are forecasted to become market leaders in ship production through reverse stock split.
The transfer of shares and signing of the contract would mean the better positioning of these two shipyards on the international shipbuilding market, finally resulting in a greater share of the final products, as well as in meeting the needs of the growing shipbuilding market. These needs primarily refer to cruise ships and multipurpose ships such as arctic tankers, like the one currently under construction in the Trogir shipyard, as well as to floating docks and chemical tankers. A greater share in the manufacturing and market placement of goods and complementary services would mean more ships built and continuous, efficient and productive manufacturing, and thereby, better earnings and increased security for the employees of both shipyards.
