To the Trogir shipyard the Platform Zagreb 1 has been towed today for repair. It is owned by the company Crosco from Zagreb (which is a part of the INA Group) and it was built in 1977 in the French shipyard Dunkerque.
It is 110.6 m high, 106.3 m wide and the overall length is 103.4m. It is of semisubmersible type, and serves the purpose of underwater research at the depth of up to 6000 meters. It is expected that the repair, which will include the replacement of ferrous metallurgy, pipe work, ironmongery work and mechanical work as well as anti-corrosion protection and other support work, will last from four to six months. While repair is under way, it is planned that for a certain period of time 300 to 400 workers will be employed which will improve the employment both of the Trogir dockyard and of some of its sub-contractors.
