Brodotrogir Begins with GDPR/General Data Protection Regulation Implementation

By today, Brodotrogir d.d. and all of its daughter companies had to harmonise with the GDPR, i.e. the General Data Protection Regulation. This Regulation was adopted at the level of the EU Parliament for the purpose of harmonising and strengthening the rights of the citizens of the European Union with respect to the protection of their privacy and personal data, preventing interference with their identity and privacy, as well as personal data breach, which is subject to very rigorous fines of 10-20 million euro. This Regulation applies to EU Member States, but also to the countries outside of the EU which manage the personal data of EU citizens.
The Regulation refers to personal data protection based on specific characteristics used for determining someone's identity, that is, on information by which a natural person is identifiable. Personal data includes name, surname, address, telephone number, e-mail address, personal identification number, data on bank accounts and loan commitments, genetic data, fingerprints, as well as data on health, religious denomination and nationality, trade union membership, sexual orientation etc.
This piece of legislation is focussed on the privacy, freedom and independence of the individual, without external influences, and it enables the individual to fully manage his or her personal data, while, at the same time, it prevents organisations from collecting that data without the permission, i.e. consent, of the individual. Therefore, organisations and enterprises must, where necessary, update the databases containing the personal data of their employees, business partners and visitors, know for which purposes they are using the personal data and manage them in accordance with the provisions of the GDPR.
In conformity with this legislation, Brodotrogir d.d. has appointed a data protection officer who can be contacted for any additional questions at the e-mail address This email address is being protected from spambots.
